In my last year of the double degree Mathematics and Physics, I was thinking about what to do after I completed my bachelor. Because my studies were really theoretical, I wanted to grow more on a practical level and the TU Delft Hydro Motion Team seemed perfect for me to do that. A project in which I can gain a lot of knowledge about the maritime world while also working to provide sustainable solutions for the industry. But I did not only want to increase my knowledge, I also wanted to improve other skills. Building a boat takes a lot more than only knowledge. Teamwork, social skills and much more are necessary for the entire process from designing to racing. And we do all this only in one year. This year I will help the embedded systems department mostly with the height control and motor controller. Because it is in our scope this year to build a foiling boat, doing this task correctly will be pivotal for us. Overall I hope to learn a lot this year by facing many challenges and of course also have fun!
