My ambition to join a Dream Team began in 2018 when I attended a race of the Solarboat team. It was inspiring to see how a group of students were so enthusiastic and motivated to build a boat powered by sustainable energy and race against other teams. Now, since I am part of the TU Delft Hydro Motion team I can experience that feeling myself. I have just finished my bachelor Civil Engineering and would like to use the knowledge I have gained in the last years by putting it to practice. At the same time it is an unique opportunity to learn a lot from other disciplines. I think it is great that this project not only makes us better engineers, but also gives us the chance to show the world the potential of sustainable solutions. I see a lot of potential in improving technology to reduce its own impact on the climate. I would like to contribute to a more sustainable future, in this project as well as in the rest of my career. This year, I am responsible for the structural analysis. This means that I will be looking at the response of the boat to introduced loads. As a consequence I will work on a design that is strong enough to withstand these loads
