In the beginning of my studies I really wanted to do a Dream Team after my bachelors. My brother had joined a Dream Team and he convinced me that it’s the best way to become a better engineer. Now that I have started, I agree with his statement. To become a better engineer you need experience in designing and building on your own. At Mechanical Engineering you learn a lot about theoretical equations and you build small projects but applying this knowledge is the hard part. As a Hull & Body engineer I am working on the internal design of the hull and helping with the hull design itself. For this function I really need to incorporate all the information of the different departments. The size, weight and working of all components need to be considered for the internal design. But also the center of gravity and the space the hull design gives are important factors that influence the internal design. This really teaches me to communicate with everyone in the team and to implement all their progress, in this way I gain knowledge of all departments!
