In 2016 I took the opportunity to sail in a moth, a small sailing boat that can foil. Immediately I was hooked on the concept and this inspired me to study Aerospace Engineering. During my bachelors I gained knowledge in the field of fluid dynamics and I experienced the beauty of engineering. After 3 years of gaining knowledge and applying this on airplanes, I wanted to return to my passion of sailing and combine this into practise with foiling. That's how I ended up with the TU Delft Hydro Motion Team. This year we are all going to work as hard as possible to develop and build a boat worthy of the world championship in Monaco. With this challenge, we want to inspire the maritime industry to switch more quickly to sustainable energy sources. As Chief Hull & Body, I am responsible for the hull design, structural design, internal design and the hydrogen hardware of the boat. As a chief I want to create an atmosphere where my team and I will be able to develop ourselves and excel as a team. I want to develop myself on both an organizational as a technical level and learn to work with the whole team to make the best boat possible. We are going to build our own foiling boat!!
