Duco Wagenaar
Cryogenics Engineer
This year I will be working as the teams Cryogenics Engineer within the Powertrain Department. My role is to ensure our boat is fitted with a Liquid Hydrogen tank and fully integrate it within the powertrain system to ensure our team of 2026 is the first every to race and win with Liquid Hydrogen at the Monaco SeaLab.
Over the last three years, I have studied Applied Physics, during which I acquired a broad and solid theoretical background in the subject. While my studies provided me with strong analytical skills, they were primarily focused on theory, leaving me with limited opportunities to apply my knowledge in real-world contexts. Through this project, my objective is to bridge that gap by expanding my understanding and gaining the practical experience necessary to connect theory with application. I see this as an important step in developing my technical abilities and provide the adaptability needed to tackle complex, hands-on challenges in my future.
