Electronic devices are all around us and becoming more and more important every day. As an electrical engineering student, I have learned a lot about electronic systems and how to implement them in a theoretical way. This year I joined the TU Delft Hydro Motion Team to gain more experience with the practical side of this study and to work together with a full team of other enthusiastic and passionate students. My interests in sailing, wingfoiling, and developing electronic circuits seem to perfectly fit with this team. This year we are going build a foiling hydrogen-powered boat to demonstrate the potential of hydrogen and show the maritime industry that this can be the future for the transport of goods. The maritime industry is one of the largest industries in the world, so sustainability will have a significant impact. In the embedded department I will be working on the electronic system of the boat. This includes parts like the power distribution, motor control, and stabilizing mechanisms of the foils. I am really looking forward to working with this team and building a well-understood foiling hydrogen-powered boat together.
